One of our chickens FINALLY started laying! We have been waiting and waiting for something to happen.
Brandon's Maran was the first. Darin was out in the coop watching them and she was in the nest, then hopped down and started doing the egg laying squawk. Sure enough there was an egg. It is getting darker everyday. It's a nice dark chocolate brown. Too bad it's not a chocolate egg!
They are getting a little bigger too. Now the countdown is on for the rest of them to start.
