Castle Rocks

So after our Family pictures in the morning, we decided to make a day of it and go to one of our favorite places....the City of Rocks.  Except this time we tried Castle Rocks.   It was nice, but I think we like City of Rocks better.
Our pictures were in Elba, so we just packed our other clothes and went hiking.   The problem was we forgot different shoes for Heidi.   So our hiking wasn't very treacherous.

We actually ended up splitting up.   The older boys want to explore and go at a much faster rate than me and Heidi and Tyler.   I felt bad we couldn't stay together as a family, but I was glad the boys could explore places that we couldn't go.

 Christo being cool!
Brandon on top of the world!
Kyle  really was happy to be there!
We waited down at the bottom for them.   You can see us in this picture....little specks.
Heidi was so worried about them making it back without getting hurt.   We had to stop and say a little prayer for them.   It was a neat experience.

We had lunch at a little park like place at the bottom.   The kids had a blast in this little stream.

Later that afternoon, we had a little work to do and then we wanted to make tin foil dinner, so the boys had a roaring fire going!  Then we got a tornado warning.   Major wind and rain came.   We kept on making our dinners, the rain was actually good, it cooled down our fire.   It was a great end to an eventful day!    It was fun to spend the whole day together as a family!

It's so pretty up there. We'll have to try it one of these days. Crazy how high up they went. Adventurous boys for sure!

It was a good thing I was not there! It scares me just to look at the places you hiked! I'm glad you're not too scared to let them do it. I'm sure they had a blast. I can't believe the cool places you found!

What amazing pictures! Kyle cracks me up! I don't blame for Heidi being worried about them. That looks like some scary hiking! Great opportunties for your kids!
