Heidi Lu!

This is our latest little experience with Heidi Lu! She fell and really cut her lip open on Sunday, in the nursery before church started. She was bleeding all over and it was looking really bad. We thought it had gone all the way through. She calmed down and started playing with it with her tongue. We were afraid she was going to poke her tongue all the way through, it was pretty gross. So Darin and I decided to take her into the Evening medical clinic to see if there was anything they could do. I had a lesson to give, a talk in church and Darin was conducting all the meetings. It was a bad day for us to have this happen too. Thankfully my friends in YW just took over. My advisor just took the lesson and did it. The YW Pres. took my talk and did it, it was just amazing the willingness of these two, I was so grateful. Bishop conducted for Darin. Anyhow, they told us we could stitch it up if we wanted to, but we would have to go to the ER and strap her down in a papoos thing, or we could go to a plastic surgeon and have them do it, or just hope it heals good and then go to a plastic surgeon if we don't like the way it healed. We decided to wait and hope it heals good and then go to a plastic surgeon if we need too. Poor girl! You can't see it very good, but there is a little place cut that is not on her lip, it's just below on the skin. That's what they were most concerned about. I hate to mess up the beautiful lips that she has! She was such a trooper and let the ladies look in her mouth and everything. I think mostly from going to the Dentist a few weeks ago, she rode in the chair and opened her mouth really good and stuff- Anyhow, I got out of my talk, but I wouldn't recommend doing it that way if anyone is looking for a way out of a talk. We did get antibiotics for her lip in case of infection. This picture is taken the next day, and you can't really see it too good. It is starting to look quite a bit better now. This is the first time we have ever taken a kid in to get possible stitches. With 3 boys, we feel pretty blessed.
Anyhow, Today she fell on our little table thing and cut the other side of her lip open, NOTHING like before, but still that girl has gotta slow down somehow! You never know what each day will bring is the moral to the story!

OH man, that is so crazy! I'm sorry. Her poor little lip looks so big!! Hopefully you won't even see anything once it heals, and you won't need a plastic surgeon. We probably would have waited to see what happened too. That's so funny she's the first possible stiches canidate out of your boys, looks like girls are more wild:-)
Hope she heals quickly!
