Winter Wonderland!

Merry Christmas everyone! The kids have been out of school since Thursday! Friday (19th), they were suppose to have school, but it snowed and was blowing bad so school was canceled. Good thing it has snowed so they can go outside and play. They love it out there. We have actually been living in a blizzard. The wind has been horrible that the road by our house and the freeway have been closed most of the last 2 days. The only great thing about the wind is it creates BIG drifts- GREAT to build snow forts and tunnels!

This is in front of the house, along the sidewalk! The kids think all of our visitors wouldn't mind crawling through a tunnel, it would be an adventure!

Another view of the big drift and tunnel. The drift goes all the way along our drive way. Thank heaven for 4 wheel drives and backhoes!

Darin LOVES outside Christmas lights. This year we filled milk jugs with water and put the lights inside them, it is SOOO COOL! It looks way cool from the road- when they aren't covered in a drift-. Next year we hope to have lots more milk jugs to do more of the sidewalk.

More lights. We have so few trees and they are so little, he puts Christmas lights on anything he can.

Another view of the front.

We are all getting so excited for Christmas Eve tomorrow! It's such a magical day and so fun to watch the kids. We hope you all have a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS!

I love your idea with the milk jugs and lights. It makes me laugh how similar Darin and Nolan can be. The fort idea is a good one for company to get through to come to your house. It would protect them from the malta wind! I don't think any other place gets as cool as forts as malta with those drifts helping pile up that much snow!

Tayna, I'm finally back into blogging! Thanks so much for letting us stay at your house and for our talk. You are such a wonderful sister-in-law. I'm so lucky to have you. I really feel that we're more like sisters as time goes on. It was fun to get snowed in there and get to spend one more day. I wish we could be back there right now and that our kids could be playing in the snow again together.

I love the lights of Christmas! Your milk jug lights are so cool! I'll never forget the tunnel to your front door and Diane's comment, "I"m not going to go through your tunnel"
