The chickens finally got to go in their new home! Almost 2 weeks ago, I'm a little slow.
They can't reach this perch, but soon they will be able to. Darin likes to set them up there.
It's really fun to let them go free outside, they really peck and dig around for bugs. The kids love to feed them worms. Tyler loves to try and catch them and put them back in their little chicken run hole.

Wow!! That looks great!! If we ever decide to become chicken farmers, we'll hire Darin to build the house. :)
I knew from the title that this post was going to be about the chickens. What a home they have! That is so fun for the kids. So many fun thing that make me wish we lived in the country sometimes. It must have been cold with Heidi wearing a coat. I hope you guys finally get some good weather. it sounds like Idaho and Utah have been pretty cold....even snow in Utah? Crazy. We see you guys in less than a month. WAHOO!!!
They are some spoiled chickens;) That is so fun for the kids. They will love it when they start laying eggs!! Who get to be the egg gatherer? Mara saw this post and she wants chickens so bad! She says Heidi is lucky! FYI Spots brought in a mouse last night for the kitties and Snow White ate pretty much the whole thing. She would not let anyone come around her.
You are definitely chicken farmers. I think it is so fun. And Tyler and Grace were cracking me up chasing them last weekend. 2 nights ago THomas was really struggling sleeping and it was like 10 and we were like "What's wrong?" And he said, "I miss Heidi" Nolan and I melted! WE DO TOO!
Becoming chicken farmers was the perfect thing for your family! Its been fun to see how much everyone has loved it. I can't get over how at ease the kids are with the chickens, but then again, if you live with them in your house for that long who wouldn't be!
So impressed! It's even better to see it in person. I hope they lots of yummy eggs for you.
