He started on the varsity Football and Basketball teams his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. He was All State, All Region and All American in football as a Full back. He was All State, All Region and Honorable Mention All American in basketball. He also ran track and was region Champ in the high hurdles his senior year. He told me that whether he had the ball or not he was tackled every play. And I have seen video of him with 2 or 3 players being dragged as he continues to move forward. He was a great athlete and always talked to us kids about being coach able and teachable. My Dad is such an amazing man, with great inner and outer strength. He and my Mom are great examples of committing themselves to the service of the Lord and the service of others. Including serving our family so much.

He's not going to be super happy for posting these pictures of him choking up. He kept trying not to make a big deal of it, but we are all so proud of him. He had all his kids, grand kids, and siblings there. I know it meant a lot to him.
I know his parents are proud of the man that he has become. And I bet they were happy to watch him too. I love my dad so much, he has overcome much in his life and he deserves this award. Dad, we give you a standing ovation for pure awesomeness!

He was inducted with one of his favorite coaches Earl Lindley. He had several coaches that took great care of him and that he respected and loved. He was excited to be inducted with him. He was even mentioned over the radio on Friday.
It was so fun to go to a big school football game. Our boys were in awe of the size of everything! Kyle and Heidi had a harder time, they wanted to get down and play like they can at our school. It worked out though and everyone had a fun time!I love you Dad and are so proud of the person you are. I couldn't ask for better parents!
* I copied a lot of this from my Sister Darcy's blog and our Cousin Michelle took the awesome pictures. My pictures didn't turn out too well.

Oh my gosh, I had no idea your dad was such the athlete. Nolan knew and didn't tell me, how dare he. That is really really cool, and I love that all his kids/grandkids were there. Goes to show you what an awesome family you guys all are! MISS YOU!
