On Sunday Nov 28th, there was a HUGE blizzard again. Church was canceled. Three of us were suppose to teach lessons, so we were pretty happy! We had our own little church, with lessons and all, it was fun. Then Darin got called by out by someone to help get a semi unstuck. He headed out in the blizzard in the tractor. There were several people stuck on and off the road. Visibility was pretty much nothing. He pulled some people out south of our house, only to get stuck north of our house, they all ended up staying at my In-laws (10 of them).
One family had already been stuck for a few hours and they decided to come home with Darin. He almost didn't pick them up because they had Utah stuff on. (not really) Come to find out they really are BYU fans, but their son plays for Utah now, so now they are Utah fans.....at least they get free stuff! Anyhow, they were at on our home from 1:00 on Sunday afternoon, until 9:30 Monday morning. It was really quite fun! They were SUCH NICE people, and just really were so good with our kids. Luckily I had a roast in the oven, and was just peeling potatoes, so we added a few more.
Their son McKay is a really good wrestler, so he taught the boys some good moves. It was just like having Uncle Johnny home. Made me homesick for him. He played catch, wrestled, and threw footballs all night. All of them were sweating so bad when they were done playing. It was so much fun for the boys, and I know McKay had a blast too. This is the first stranded people we have had in our home and I'm sure not the last.
Our new friends, the Hyde's. You're welcome anytime!

Haha, that is so hillarious! Good thing you guys were there. What a mess. So sad about BYU. But at least they have fans like your family that will always support!
Sigh... The one thing I don't miss about Idaho. Driving in storms. That's so fun that they stayed at your house though. I'm sure they were very grateful.
How great that you had some nice people stay with you; could be scary if they weren't huh?! Gooooooo Cougars!!! so sad but you guys looked AWESOME!!
PS: I just did the sugar beet thing; thanks for the reminder!
That's so awesome that you could open your home like that! It sounds like a fun time. I've never heard of sledding on sugar beets hills either---that sounds very adventurous!!! We were soooo sad that BYU lost! But they put up a really good fight.
