This is the way the kids were at the beginning of Conference on Saturday. Look how intently they are listening, holding still...etc. IT WAS AWESOME!! I just have to say our kids did great during Conference...thanks to a little positive incentives.
They are sitting with their piece of paper listening for 'the word' of that specific session. The word for the first session was Holy Ghost. They keep tally marks on their paper of when the word was said, then at the end of the session they get a small piece of candy for each time they heard the word. (an M&M, or a swedish fish, or something small like that, it also can't be a very popular word). It works AMAZING. One of the boys even said, I didn't hear the word as much, because I was listening to the whole talk, and forgot to listen for one specific word.
YES! Mission accomplished!

That is so sweet. I have heard of people doing that, or keeping candy out in five jars with each jar having a word that they can go get a piece of candy when they hear it. Your way sounds much less distracting :-)
Awesome idea Tayna! I love that Heidi is wearing a Snow White dress! She stands out for sure with all of those boys....so cute!
Was Heidi able to do it too? I can't wait until my kids can do that. That were not so good during the talks this year.
What a great idea! Did it work for all 4 sessions? I love Heidi in the Snow White dress!
Sounds like fun. We do conference bingo at our house to try and keep the kids interested.
I think its so neat how you get the kids to listen to conference!
