Bear Lake 2011

WARNING: lots of pictures. I can't decide and with 5 kids I feel like I want to try and keep it even, so I am posting lots of pictures! You don't have to look if you don't want too. This post is about our Bear Lake trip and at the end there are a few random July pictures.

Our first day in Bear Lake Grandpa and Grandma and Uncle Johnny were there. It was fun to be with them for a little bit. We had a great game of mini golf. One of the kids favorite things to do there.

Heidi was a FISH! She improved swimming sooo much. She was under the water more than she was above the water :).
Christopher has always loved digging in the sand

Brandon

Kyle

Tyler looking like a tough guy!

Christopher got pretty good with his dives
The weather was never hot when we were there. It was warm, but not overly. So the being in the water was harder because it was cool. The kids still liked the knee board.

Brandon is getting better at surfing! He tried getting up on 1 ski, and couldn't so he did 2. About a month later on the snake river he got up on 1 ski!!

Growin right up this boys is :)

Christopher got up on our smaller two ski's. He had fun after he did it, but still wouldn't try it again.

Kyle got up easy on the two little ski's. But was screaming the whole time. As soon as he got up he gave us the cut sign. I was driving the boat and I didn't stop. I kept going until he quit screaming. It took quite a while. I don't know why these kids can't just enjoy being up.......silly boys. He gave us a good laugh anyway!

They had new slides in the pool and the little kids especially loved them. Tyler would go down, and then stand up at the bottom and jump in. Brave little guy!

Brandon doing a back flip....or possibly a aeriel.

Heidi loved going off the diving board too. The last day we even got Tyler going off the board, but didn't get a picture. It was fun.

Kyle even dove! He said he always hit the bottom of the pool with his head, but we think it was a face plant on the water.

Feeding the seagulls was one of Heidi's favorite activities.

Doing a little rafting

One of the best things we did was go on a LONG bike ride. We rode into La Beau's and got a couple hamburgers, fries and some shakes to share. It was a long way and we did it pretty easy! The food was really yummy too.

Heidi even rode her small bike with training wheels and did really well considering how far we went. At one point I suggested that her and I turn around because I was worried about making it the whole way back. She said No way! I want french fries!! Then peddled faster! She's my girl!

Stopping for a beloved squeeze it! They are a REAL treat to our kids.

Always love the hot tub!

Tennis was really fun too.

Our friends the Jensen's were up there camping so we got together for a couple days. It was super fun! They have 5 boys who are very active and fun. It always helps our kids to have more fun and be brave. Heidi fits right in with them.

The two oldest boys on the tube.

Sue and I rode the tube. I am a wimp in my old age! We did get dumped though. Thanks to Darin.

The night they left we went for shakes at La Beau's. It was chilly, but oh so delicious!

End of Bear Lake pictures.........It was super fun!

When we got home, this is what awaited us. Peas. Tons and tons of peas. They are so delicious, but a lot of work.

In July Darin's brother and his family moved back to the Farm. This is Heidi and Thomas playing in the mud. It is so fun have a play mate right next door. We've never really had that.

Kyle slept on his floor. Right by his bed. Nearly every night of the summer. He said he likes the floor!

Christopher and Brandon did a lot of scouting during the summer. They worked on Personal Fitness, and Family life. For one of Christopher's projects for family life he decided to make a drain field for one of the rain gutters to run into. He dug this huge hole, then filled it with lava rocks and covered it up. It was a big project and he did really good. Brandon dug out all our window wells (5) and put bigger rocks down in them. It was a huge project too, but I didn't get any pictures. They both did such a great job and worked so hard.

It was a deep hole!

Whew, If you are reading this you made it through this ginormous post. If I were a more consistent blogger......but I'm not so big is better than none! Thanks for reading.

I'm very impressed with the digging your boys did. Wow. So what did you do to teach them to WORK? Is it just from living on the farm?

Nice pictures. I love that you didn't let Kyle stop...that is funny. They all are sure growing up and how fun to meet up with friends there (that was a lot of boys)
