Twas the Night before Christmas.....

I feel bad I didn't take very many pictures this night because we really had a fun night.
Grandpa Gary, Grandma Susy, Uncle Johnny and his fiance came and we had dinner. It was really yummy. Then we got all ready to make our movie. Darin's family did this every year growing up and we have continued the tradition. It's always fun to do. Thankfully we had Johnny here, he is the creative one! I didn't even think to take pictures until the very end of the movie. This year we had kids in Hawaii.....under our banana tree.....dreaming of pineapple, oranges and apples. The pineapple even fell off and landed right on Heidi's belly.....She didn't break character at all.....just kept on sunbathing under the 'palm tree/ banana tree!' It was hilarious. The children also fell asleep on the couch and bean bag watching The Grinch. Trying to break from the traditional sleeping in the beds and dreaming of sugar plums.

Right after the children 'woke up' from dreaming about sugar plums on the couch.
Alie and Heidi were the reindeer.
Alie really got broke into our family, she was such a great sport.
Kyle was our Santa. He could barely walk, and was a little cottage cheesy. He refused to wear any type of beard, other than that he did a great job.
The ELF B.I. always has to make an appearance. They are getting bigger and more muscular!
After the movie making we had to settle down a little and do our nativity. It was a little hard not be silly, but it was turned out nice. As you can see from the picture we didn't have a donkey, Grandpa Gary was a zebra. We also had a bat, instead of a Shepherd. Tyler HAD to wear his bat costume!
The kids all got jammies, Kyle had been looking forward to new jammies for a week!
They can still do the ladder with their heights.
Family picture. We were still a little silly.
They even had to take a silly picture with Grandma and Grandpa.

All the kids slept downstairs in Christopher and Kyle's room even Uncle Johnny. I think they were tired enough they settled down pretty fast. We had a really fun night together. What a great time to celebrate our Saviors Birth and remember what is most important.

You have a lot of really fun, unique holiday traditions!! What fun to go with the flow and have a zebra, bat, beardless Santa, etc. Your pics were great! It's crazy how little snow there is this year. Way to go to make the most of it!!
