Eagle Project part 1

Brandon decided last year he wanted to put in a vinyl fence at the cemetery for his Eagle Scout project.    It was a pretty big project, but that's what he wanted to do.
He had to start by getting approval from the world (it felt like).    Once he had the project approved, he started on the fund raising.   He sent letters to people in our community and to people who had loved ones buried at the cemetery or who owned plots there asking for a donation.    That was a lot of work, but he did a great job on it.     It was so fun to see the funds come in.    People were so generous and kind in their donating.    He had gathered enough funds by his goal date, that he could actually do it on time!

This is what the cemetery looked like before.
They ended up taking out most of these trees along the road.

He arranged a day after school, for his quorum to come help him take down the fence.

Christopher was pulling out the staples.

The next day, just our family went and took care of the trees

Back hoes are so fun to play on!
Christopher showing us his cookie.    He did work hard.
I wish I would have gotten a picture of Heidi and Tyler.   We were there so long, they finally lost interest in helping on the fence, so they went to the very far north side of the cemetery where there are lots of old fake flowers blown into that fence line.   They gathered them up and had a blast playing with them.
