So this year I drove beet truck a little. I just filled in a few days a week, but it was just enough. I learned how to drive the other trucks that have stick shift. My truck is automatic. I am super glad I don't have to work all harvest 8-8. It would be so hard on a family.
I usually worked half of Saturday which is okay. I don't like leaving the kids, so I made them all come with me!! Crazy idea!
I had 4 kids in the truck for about 3 rounds and that was PLENTY long!
There wasn't much room. Because my truck is an automatic it has a bench which is very helpful when bringing kids along.
The kids took turns riding in the tractor with Darin. They always like to do that more than riding in the truck because when they have no trucks they get to climb all over the beet digger.
