Let me introduce Roxanne (the red one) and Betty
Since we ended up with 2 roosters, Grandpa Doug felt bad for us and let us have 2 of his chickens. (he did have too many). Lucky for us, Roxanne has been laying for a couple weeks and Betty just started laying. They are nice tame chickens.
Christopher took this picture today because they were both in the nest.
We discovered chickens LOVE apples!

Now let me introduce- Smoke, Thunder, and Shamu
We have been wanting kitties all summer. Our home teacher found out and brought us 3! We were so happy! They are plenty small, not sure they can even catch a mouse. They do not like cat food, so it could be rough keeping them alive. They are all males. Not what I wanted. Seems like we can never have too many cats around here though. Maybe the winter will be tough on them.

Last introduction is "THE MOTHER KITTY!"
We found her babies 1 day (of course) after we got the other 3 kitties. If you look closely you will see 8 babies! she actually birthed 10, but 2 died. She is the mother kitty of the century! She is actually not super tame. She had another batch already this year in the old shop, all those are running around the machinery yard and are NOT tame. Is it horrible to say I wish I could give the 3 gray ones back! I would love to move these little babies over to our house and make them tame. I know they will be good mousers too because the Mom is so good.
So that is what has been keeping the kids busy. They are having such a fun summer just playing around with the chickens and now the kitties.
