Christopher got contacts the end of March. We took him in last year to get contacts and the doctor said he couldn't wear contacts because of him needing bifocals for his eyes to stop myopia. Well, this year it was a new doctor...new out of school and he told us we could do contacts!!! They are special contacts that do have the bifocals built into the contact. He was so happy! He learned how to care for the contacts really fast too. Hopefully his eyes will tolerate the contacts well and he can contiue to wear them.
I first took this picture...this is usually the look I get. Then I told him I was taking a picture so I could blog about his contacts and to show me how happy he was to have contacts.
As you can see he is quite happy to have contacts!
We did find out though that he has some interesting eyes. It was highly recommended by the Dr. that we take him to vision therapy. He has convergence insufficiency, accommodation spasm, and is over focusing. So taking him to vision therapy will help his eyes in the long run be much more healthy and work properly. So we go for our first big visit in May where we will find out exactly what is going on and what needs to be done. It will require us to travel to Boise once a week....which is not exciting, since we travel to Logan once a week for Tyler's speech. But, how do you decide which child's problem is more important? You don't. You have to sacrifice and do what is best for them. Good thing it isn't forever and I am so grateful that we can get some help for him. This vision therapy should help his eyes and make it so he won't need bifocals forever. Along with a few other things!
Christopher is such a cutie!! His eyes seem SO big now that they are not behind glasses!

Wow, vision therapy!? I've never heard of that. But I'm so glad there's something that can be done to help him for the now and the later! Spencer's been begging for contacts for a year+, but I don't know if he's responsible enough yet. Maybe we'll bring him to you to have him trained in handling them!
Love the pictures of Christoper. I can tell he loves his contacts, I think. He's a great kid. Sure love him!
Cute posts!! Basketball looks fun! Christopher looks good in contacts, when I saw last, I kept thinking he forgot his glasses and then I would have to remind myself he has contacts now!! They are heaven sent!
